This is AP news minute. 

1. A "rambling" note expressing hatred for police was found after a man went on shooting spree in Philadelphia overnight, killing a woman, injuring two police officers and wounding three others. The man was shot and killed by police. 

2. A pipe bomb exploded in seaside park, New Jersey, shortly before the start of a 5K charity race to benefit marines and sailors. No injuries were reported. But the race was canceled. 

3. Donald Trump campaigned in Houston Saturday, telling an anti-immigration group that open-borders are costing U.S lives. Meantime, former defense secretary Robert Gates who served under president Obama and former president George W.Bush wrote a piece in Wall Street journal, describing Trump as "Beyond repair when it comes to national security". 

4. Traditional bands and beer wagons took to the streets in Munich, Germany, as the city kick-off its annual October fest. The beer will be flowing until October, 3rd.
