A footballer who was assaulted during a brawl at a pub at diamond creek in Melbourne's north-east has died in hospital.

19 year old Patrick Cronin was out celebrating at a local pub on Saturday night when a brawl broke out involving around 30 people.

He suffered head injuries.

Police are continuing their investigations.

The lower house of brazil's congress has voted by the two-thirds majority necessary to authorize impeachment proceedings against president Dilma Rousseff.

The matter now goes to the senate, which can vote to open a trial against her on charges of manipulating budget accounts.

A two-thirds majority in the upper house would remove her from office.
