Australia's privacy watchdog is investigating whether credit reporting giant Veda Advantage has broken the law by selling sensitive personal information to marketing companies.

Veda records the credit histories of 20 million people in Australia and New Zealand.

Last month, the office of the Australian information commissioner opened an investigation into Veda's data marketing arm, Inivio, after a complaint by Victorian woman Kylie Miller.

Ms miller has told that she became concerned after receiving offers of credit in the mail from various lenders,shortly after refinancing her mortgage.

A consumer group in Norway has spent more than 30 hours reading out terms and conditions for mobile phone apps,to draw attention to their absurd length.

The Norwegian consumer council says the average phone user has 33 apps, whose terms and conditions together run longer than the new testament.
