Mariska, 55, explains: "I just think life is already hard—there's going to be challenges and knockdowns every day.

Today's balloons are remnants from an early birthday party for Andrew, as well as others sent as a thank-you for Hargitay's work with her Joyful Heart Foundation for abuse survivors. But there are many reasons for the couple to feel festive.
