According to Business Insider, Amber Guyger, the Dallas Police officer who shot dead her black neighbor Botham Jean earlier this month, has been fired.

The 30 year old Guyger, who was hired by the department in November of 2013, has been charged with manslaughter.

She was originally put on administrative leave after the September 6th shooting of 26 year old Jean.

Guyger told investigators at the time that she shot Jean, her upstairs neighbor, that she confused his apartment for her own.

However, attorney's for Jean's family have disputed Guyger's account, claiming witnesses say she banged on the door demanding to be let in.
