Fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces erupted again Sunday over the disputed separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh. The territory's defense ministry says at least 16 soldiers and two civilians were killed, and more than 100 are wounded. Azerbaijan's president said his military has suffered multiple loses.

Nearly 100,000 demonstrators marched on the streets of Belarus' capital Minsk on Sunday for a 50th consecutive day. Protestors are calling on President Alexander Lukashenko to resign following the August 9th presidential election that gave him a sixth term in office.

And a memorial in honor of thousands of lives lost as a result of the coronavirus pandemic in Spain opened to the public Sunday. Over 50,000 Spanish flags were erected overnight on the grassy slopes of Madrid's Rome park overlooking the city's main circular road.
