Britain's Ministry¹ of Defense² last week announced the accidental killing³ of 4 civilians⁵ as a result of an air strike by British forces operating in Afghanistan. While reports of civilian⁴ deaths are on the rise in Afghanistan, those attributable to aerial bombardment from U.S. and coalition⁶ forces have actually been on the decline in recent months. VOA's George Dwyer reports a former U.S. Defense Department munitions⁷ expert - a man who now works as a human rights advocate for Human Rights Watch - recently discussed his findings on how changes in military tactics by both the U.S. and the Taliban have affected⁸ civilians in Afghanistan.  Jim Bertel narrates⁹.
