F: how exactly are we going to protect my games?
M: That depends on what exactly we protect.
F: Let’s start with my source code.
M: That’s easy, we copyright your source codes.
F: and I suppose the manual.
M: yes, the manual is copyrightable too.
F: Does the copyright protection extend to the game title?
M: No , that would be trademarked.
Q: how will the source code be protected?
A: copyrighted/by copyright.

Dialog 2:
F: what’s the difference between a trademark and a copyright?
M: A trademark protects titles or symbols associated with a product.
F: like the graphic² design?
M: like the graphic design and even your company’s logo.
F: so the look of my product is trademarked.
M: the source code and manual are copyrighted.
F: so no one can copy them?
M: not without intellectual property infringement³.
Q: what protectes titles and the graphic design?

F: Copyright is easy, put a C in a circle, you name and date on your manual.

M: Only if you want to protect it.
