Chinese President Xi Jinping says China and Equatorial Guinea can deepen cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum1 on China-Africa Cooperation.

He says this will help advancing bilateral2 relations to a new level.

He made the remarks in an exchange of congratulatory messages with the President of Equatorial Guinea to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Over 8.8 million people have been sampled for nucleic acid testing in Qingdao as part of the city's COVID-19 testing campaign.

Over 5.4 million of the collected samples have been tested so far and no new positive samples have been detected.

Qingdao has a population of more than 11 million. The city has vowed7 to complete city-wide nucleic acid testing within five days starting from Monday.

Beijing is requiring that travelers from overseas take three nucleic acid tests when heading to the Chinese capital.

Travelers from overseas arriving in Beijing must take a first test and present their certificate with a negative result within five days of boarding their flight; they must then conduct a health declaration and take a second test at customs.

Finally, they must take a third test after completing quarantine in China.

Since Beijing resumed direct international flights in early September, the city has opened 34 hotels for concentrated medical observation and quarantine.

Officials say more than 94 hundred people have used the quarantine sites, and over 29 hundred of them are still under medical observation.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says the COVID-19 positive rate in New York state's "Red Zone" areas has surpassed 6 percent.
