Authorities called to a Walmart parking lot found 8 people dead and 20 others in dire¹ condition in the back of a sweltering tractor-trailer. Police say they were victims of immigrant smuggling² operation gone wrong. The driver was arrested.

Video released on Sunday by the People’s Protection Units purportedly³ shows infantry⁴ battling Islamic State group fighters on the streets of Raqqa. The US-backed Syrian forces pressed on with their campaign to capture the group’s De Facto Capital in Syria this weekend with a renewed push into the city’s old districts.

Officials say a blaze with multiple explosions tore through an apartment complex under construction in Massachusetts. Authorities say the complex’s 5 buildings collapsed⁵ in the fire early Sunday.

A tiger and a goat are taking social media by storm after the pair became friends in Russia’s Far East. The Primorskiy Safari⁶ Park says the tiger has struck up a friendship with the goat and the two became unlikely roommates.
