Special Counsel Robert Mueller made his first public comments on the Russia probe as he prepares to leave the office. He emphasized that his report did not exonerate¹ President Donald Trump² but says he was barred from charging the President with a crime.

House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler vowed³ to continue investigating President Trump. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders says the case is closed and everyone should just "move on".

Weather forecasters say Tuesday set a new record of 12 consecutive⁴ days with at least 8 tornadoes⁵. Also Tuesday, the National Weather Service received reports of at least 27 tornadoes, including one near Kansas city.

On the anniversary of the first ascent⁶ of Mount Everest in 1953, there's a traffic jam on the world's tallest peak. The climbing season has been marred⁷ by 11 deaths, including 2 Americans, in Nepal and China.
