美国文化脱口秀 第386期:G20的G是什么?

 　　同为国际关系硕士，Jenny和Spencer都表示，今天一定要说G20！大家知道G20的“G”，到底代表什么？总理、首相、总统、主席各种称谓，英语是什么？各国领导人名字怎么念？还有国际政坛颜值担当的帅哥总理，这次也来了，而且和中国颇有渊源！

　　G = group: 集团，团体

　　It stands for "group". When you say G20, it sounds much more powerful and mysterious: 其实就是“团体”啦，不过说G20, 听起来有气势多了，而且还有几分神秘感

　　Summit also means the top of the mountain: 这个词也是山峰的意思

　　你可以用这些词形容大人物、大腕儿：

　　这几个说法都特别地道。跟native speaker说，他们一定对你刮目相看！

　　不过，这些说法很口语；正式的说法是：

　　national leaders: 国家领导人

　　heads of states: 国家元首

　　总统、主席；总理、首相

　　虽然中文叫法因国而异，不过基本上英语谈国家领导人，就会用这两个词：

　　President: 总统、主席

　　Prime Minister (也常缩写为PM): 首相，总理

　　但是，有个例外：

　　Chancellor⁴: 德国总理用这个词

　　Germany is the only major country that uses the word "chancellor" instead of prime minister: 德国应该是主要国家里唯一用chancellor而不是prime minister称呼总理的

　　G20还有一个国王

　　King: 国王

　　It's a country with a lot of oil: 是个石油很多的国家
