 　　A Glad Thanksgiving¹ 快乐的感恩节

　　It was² a cold Thanksgiving Day. 那是一个寒冷的感恩节。

　　Big Turkey³ and Gray⁴ Goose were in the hen house. All the chickens were there, too. 大火鸡和灰鹅待在鸡舍里。所有小鸡也都在那里。

　　"How cold it is!" said⁵ Gray Goose. “好冷啊”！灰鹅说。

　　"I have never seen⁶ so much snow." “我从来没有见过这么多的雪”。

　　"I don't like this cold day at all," said Big Turkey. “我一点都不喜欢这么冷的天”，大火鸡说。

　　"I wish Jack⁷ would⁸ hurry. It is time for our dinner," said the goose.  “希望杰克能快点来，我们的晚餐时间到了”，鹅说。

　　"Cock-a-doodle-do!" said the rooster. “喔喔喔”！公鸡说。

　　"Every one should be happy today. This is Thanksgiving Day." “今天大家都应该高兴点，今天是感恩节”。

　　"How can I be happy today?" said the goose. "I am hungry." “今天我怎么能高兴地起来”？鹅说。“我好饿”。

　　"I am hungry, too," said the rooster, "and I would like some water. “我也饿了”，公鸡说，“而且我想喝些水。

　　But we should be glad to have this home. The cold wind can not get in, and the fox can not catch us. 但是我们应该为有这样一个家而感到高兴。寒风吹不进来，狐狸也抓不到我们。

　　We should all try to be very happy on this Thanksgiving Day." 在感恩节这天我们都应该尽量高兴些”。

　　The turkey and the goose said, "You are right, White Rooster. We should all be happy today." 火鸡和鹅说，“白公鸡，你说得对。今天我们都应该高兴点”。

　　White Rooster said, "Then let us sing a Thanksgiving song." 白公鸡说，“那么，我们一起唱一首感恩节的歌吧”。

　　So they all began to sing.  于是，他们都开始唱起来。

　　Mother, Father, Jack, and Molly were eating Thanksgiving dinner. 妈妈、爸爸、杰克和莫莉正在吃感恩节晚餐。

　　"I hear a noise in the hen house!" said Mother. "Jack, did⁹ you forget to feed the chickens?" “我听到鸡舍里有声音”！妈妈说，“杰克，你忘记喂鸡了吗”？

　　Jack said, "Oh, Mother, I am sorry. I did forget. I will run out now and feed them." 杰克说，“哦，妈妈，对不起。我忘记了。现在我就跑过去喂他们。”

　　Molly said, "They should have some water, too. Poor chickens! 莫莉说，“他们也应该喝些水，可怜的小鸡们！

　　They have not had¹⁰ any dinner. Come, Jack. Let us hurry."  它们还没吃晚餐呢。快，杰克。我们快点”。

　　Big Turkey saw¹¹ them coming. 大火鸡看到他们来了。

　　"Here come the children," he said. “孩子们过来了”，他说。

　　"They liked our Thanksgiving song very much, and now they are going¹² to give us a Thanksgiving dinner." “他们非常喜欢我们唱的感恩节的歌，现在他们要来给我们送感恩节的晚餐了”。

　　What a good dinner it was! 多么棒的晚餐啊！

　　After dinner Big Turkey said, "Now let us sing another song. Ready! One, two, three, sing!" 晚餐过后大火鸡说，“现在让我们唱另一首歌吧。预备！一、二、三，唱！”

　　When Jack heard their song, he said, "Hear them sing in the hen house! They like Thanksgiving Day, too."  听到他们的歌声，杰克说，“听，他们在鸡舍里唱歌！他们也喜欢感恩节”。
