Head lice have six grasping legs, each with a cl* to help them stick to the hair shafts⁴. There are usually fewer than a dozen lice on an infected head, but they can be a mountain of litter. The discarded shells hunderds of eggs. Female lice can survive on the same skull⁵ for nearly a month and lay up to 60 eggs. And once one member of a household has lice, without treatment, everyone is at risk of invasion. These lice punch skin to feed at least once a day, draining blood for its nutrients⁶, and inject s* to stop clotting⁷. A young lice's transparent⁸ body takes on the family colors after its first meal.

Body lice are much hard to brush aside. Human body is a hard place for body lice to live. There's nothing to grab onto, no place to hide. So instead, they take refuge in the folds and creases⁹ of dirty clothes.
