我蓦地发现，爸爸脖子后面怎么长了一个疮？我于是问他︰「爹，你的颈后边生了一个疮吗？」 爸爸打?手势，指指自己的脖子，又指指我，那意思好象在说︰你平时不留意罢了，我早就有这个疮。 我有点狐疑。爸爸也不理会我，他径自在家中的各个抽屉里，在翻些甚么，其中在早上留在抽屉里的五千元，很迅速地被放进口袋里了，然后他又继续翻?其他抽屉。 我盯?爸爸奇怪的举动，在他衣领后面的那个疮，仔细看原来是肉瘤，还长了一小撮毛，这么特别的一个有毛瘤子，可不是这两天内可以生出的，难道我以前眼花了不是？
I suddenly discovered something: was that a boil at the back of Daddy’s neck? So I asked him. He pointed at his neck, then pointed at me, as if to say, "It’s been there always, only you didn’t notice." I was not too sure. Daddy kept on pulling out the drawers and searching here and there. When he saw the $5,000 left in one of the drawers this morning, he quickly pocketed it and continued to search other drawers. I watched his unusual moves, and stared at the boil on his neck. When I looked closely enough, I found that it was a mole, with some hairs growing out of it. With a hairy mole like that, it couldn’t have grown in the last few days. Had it skipped my notice before? I wondered.
